The 21st Century Campus will offer beautiful spaces where students, faculty, staff, and visitors can enjoy the outdoors.
The first floor will feature an outdoor courtyard designed to bring sunlight into the JTS quad throughout the day. Situated between the dining hall on one side and the atrium on the other, it will have plentiful seating and tables surrounded by trees and other greenery. We are especially pleased that the new courtyard will be accessible to all, with no steps or steep grades to impede mobility.
There will be a landscaped terrace outside the library’s second level, overlooking the courtyard below. This will be an inviting spot for Library users who’d like to sit outside and read, and another place where the entire community can enjoy being outdoors. The second-floor terrace will also be fully accessible.
An additional outdoor entry point will be situated on the second floor of Kripke Tower. What was previously a window will become a door to a small patio and walkway to the library terrace. And there will be a patio outside the moadon, our new student lounge and gathering space.
Thanks to a design that features several large walls of windows, the light and greenery of our new outdoor spaces will reach indoors as well, brightening the entire campus throughout the year.
